Walking onto campus knowing I’d been chosen to photograph the Graduate School of Education, I felt the weight of it differently. This was an honor.

Harvard Graduate School of Education prepares educators, leaders, and changemakers to transform education and advance human development. Their mission is to develop the next generation of people who will shape schools, communities, and societies. They invest deeply in mentorship, rigorous thinking, and the belief that real change happens through people who understand themselves and their impact on others.

What I found were people who showed up every day because they believed in the work. Students sitting in circles on the lawn having conversations that felt real. Faculty in offices actually listening to the people in front of them. No performance. Just attention. One of the best things about photographing educational spaces is seeing what real teaching actually looks like. Not the lecture hall version. The office where a mentor helps someone understand themselves better. The peer discussion where ideas get challenged. The moment a student realizes they belong in this work. These are the moments that reveal what an institution actually does, not what it claims to do.
