I used to be in healthcare consulting. I spent years understanding how innovation moves through the healthcare system, how breakthrough technologies get from idea to impact. Then I left that world to photograph instead. Different path, same obsession with what actually matters.

Standing in that room watching Governor Maura Healey cut the ribbon for ARC Landing Boston, the first U.S.-based accelerator from ARC, I realized those worlds were never really that far apart. Six groundbreaking startups have already landed here. Collectively raising $85 million. Building technologies that will change how we detect cancer, treat PTSD, manage medications. This isn’t just good for healthcare. It’s good for my city.

One of the best things about photographing moments like this is capturing what happens when people understand they’re part of something bigger than themselves. The handshake between Dr. Yonatan Keschner and the Governor. The moment the room erupts when the ribbon falls. The quiet conversation between founders who just realized they’re not alone in what they’re building. These aren’t the moments that make the official announcement. But they’re the ones that show what this actually means.

That’s why we do this work. To be in the room when history gets made. To witness the moment when innovation stops being a concept and becomes real.
